The Jack-in-the-Box is a unique cocktail — it's a simple classic that's sweet and refreshing. When you think of simple classic cocktails, like the Old Fashioned or Manhattan, you think of boozy sippers. The Jack-in-the-Box goes in a different direction. The apple brandy base, combined with pineapple juice and bitters, makes for a light, pleasant cocktail that's a perfect complement to summer.

What you need

  • 2 oz. apple brandy
  • 1.5 oz. pineapple juice
  • 0.25 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

How it's made

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, then double-strain into a coupe. No garnish.
