Despite its name, the Japanese Cocktail actually contains no Japanese ingredients. Featuring Cognac, sweetened with orgeat and balanced with Angostura bitters, the Japanese Cocktail is essentially a brandy-based old fashioned.
What you need
- 2 oz. Cognac brandy
- 0.5 oz. orgeat
- two dashes of Angostura bitters
How it's made
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir, then strain into a coupe. No garnish.
